4PM Forum Strata Titles Moot Court and Unit Entitlement

MOOT COURT: Valuers and the Strata Titles Act 1985 (WA)

In a moot court scenario, drawn from real-life and hypothetical scenarios, we will look at:

· How expert valuers can, practically, assist the Courts or Tribunal in strata disputes
· What are the valuation issues that commonly arise in strata disputes?
· Whether a scheme’s unit entitlements count for much

The legal participants in the moot court are Mark Atkinson, Legal Director, and Robert Kronberger, Consultant, both from Atkinson Legal, Strata and Commercial Lawyers.

VALUING FOR UNIT ENTITLEMENT PURPOSES:

The presenters will examine the difficulties of re-assessing unit entitlements due to changed circumstances within a local strata scheme as well as highlight the processes when basing values on developers’ early plans and specifications in a changing market.
